Founded in 2011, South Florida Cloggers started as a small group of friends who shared a passion for dance. We quickly grew into a community of dancers and performers, and have been spreading the joy of clogging ever since.
Rebecca Stone Vetter is a renowned clogging instructor and choreographer based in Davie, Florida. She founded Rock Step Studio in 2011, which became home to the South Florida Cloggers, where she mentors dancers of all ages, emphasizing discipline, teamwork, and leadership.
Her choreography blends traditional clogging with modern influences, earning her students state and national titles. Rebecca’s team performs at local events, helping young dancers build confidence in public performance. They have supported organizations such as The Prestige Club and Gala, Ranch Room (Boys and Girls Clubs), The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Dan Marino Foundation, Down Syndrome Foundation of Florida, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, March of Dimes, Bit by Bit Medical Therapeutic Riding Center, Memorial Hospital, and Broward Health.
The team has also performed on Royal Caribbean, at Walt Disney World, America’s Got Talent, and has opened for country music stars Rodney Adkins, Gretchen Wilson, Scotty McCreary, and Dylan Scott.
Rebecca is dedicated to growing the clogging community, inspiring dancers, and promoting the art through performances, competitions, and outreach. She actively integrates her teaching into festivals, competitions, and events, mentoring other instructors and community leaders.
Her passion for clogging is both contagious and inspiring, making her a powerful influence in the clogging world and beyond.
Dr. Lora Cochran, DPT fell in love with dancing and performing on stage at a young age. She took her first dance class at 4 years old and began competing the following year. After exploring the worlds of competitive dance and community theater as a child and dance education and professional event entertainment as a young adult, she entered the clogging community and never looked back. Ms. Lora has been a member of and choreographer for the South Florida Cloggers since our origin in 2011. In that time, she has performed at countless community events and national competitions with this amazing high energy team. Through clogging, she has gotten the opportunity to open for artists such as Russel Dickerson, Scotty McCreery and Gretchen Wilson and perform for a variety of cruise lines and theme parks. She’s very excited to be traveling with the American Clogging Allstars to London this coming New Year’s.
In 2018, Ms. Lora graduated from Stony Brook University with a doctorate in physical therapy. She now works as a pediatric physical therapist for a local hospital where she works with children with special needs and premature babies. She also works at a hippotherapy center, Bit by Bit Therapeutic Riding center, working with children on horseback. On March 21, 2020, Ms. Lora married her “Superman”, Chris Cochran. Chris quickly became a member of the SFC’s cherished “Multi-award Winning Dads” team. After a few years of being “fur parents” to their adorable Nova Scotia Duck Toller, Skywalker, the two welcomed a beautiful baby girl in the summer of 2022. Everly Cochran is now one of the youngest members of the South Florida cloggers. Ms. Lora loves being able to share her love for dance and clogging with her daughter and raising the next generation of clogging.
Ms. Lora is excited to be back at the beach with her family and closest friends this summer. The Sunshine State Jamboree is especially dear to Ms. Lora because it was the first clogging workshop that she ever attended back in 2010. Barely knowing any step names, she jumped right into classes and was welcomed with open arms by local and national instructors. 15 years later, Lora is proud to be an instructor for this event, and she hopes to embrace budding performers just like she was.
